Travel to Trondheim

Trondheim

This page includes information regarding:

By Plane:
Trondheim Airport (TRD) is located 30 minutes outside the Trondheim city center.

The airport is served by:
Norwegian Airlines, www.norwegian.no
KLM Airlines, www.klm.com
SAS Braathens, www.sasbraathes.com

Direct international flights are available from Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amsterdam, and London.

Direct domestic flights are available from Oslo (OSL) (0h 55min), Stavanger (1h 50min - 2h 30min) and Bergen (0h 55min). One-way flights from Oslo cost around US$ 150, however you can save on airfare with Norwegian carriers if you book more than four weeks in advance. Flights from Oslo are scheduled more than 30 times a day.

From the airport, the express bus takes you directly to Royal Garden Hotel. The airport bus costs 62 NOK for students and 70 NOK for ordinary tickets. The airport bus stops at all major hotels in Trondheim every 15 minutes. We do not recommend using a taxi. You will find the bus right outside the airport terminal building. It takes you directly to the Hotel.

By Bus:
There are a few different bus connections from Oslo, the fares are significantly l ower than on planes, however the trip takes about eight hours. For more information about bus service, please visit:
www.lavprisekspressen.no
www.nor-way.no

By Train:
The train station is located a few hundred meters from SAS Royal Garden, and
takes 6-7 hours from Oslo. More information on the train service, please visit: www.nsb.no

By Boat:
The Norwegian coast is one of the most beautiful in the world, and the best
way to experience it is on The Norwegian Coastal Express. The ship travels from Kirkenes in the north to Bergen in the south, and it departs Trondheim every day.

The trip to Bergen takes three days, and is recommendable for those who want to extend their stay here in Norway. Read more about this option on the Post-Conference Tours page.

**Please keep in mind, if you choose to participate in the post-conference Norwegian Coastal Express tour you should book your long distance flights to and from Oslo and get domestic flights from Oslo to Trondheim and Bergen to Oslo. It is also possible to go both distances by train. The ride takes about 6 hours and tickets are available online at www.nsb.no.
