FV was often confronted with on the one hand the relative simple needs of start-ups that could not be met by a lack of information and on the other the many donor-projects with untapped business potential. Subsequently FV ?in cooperation with the NCDO- developed the Business in Development (BiD) Challenge, an international business plan competition for poverty reduction and profit. After the success of the first edition in 2004/05 the second edition is being held this year with the support of both non-profit and private sector partners.  The BiD Challenge aims to supply a simple and hands-on ‘tool' for private sector development in developing countries. www.bidchallenge.org
